Hi.

I'm Alisa. Nice to meet you.

I’m a NYC-based singer/songwriter. Born in Moscow, my family emigrated to the US when I was just one year old. I grew up in a Russian-speaking, European-influenced household, surrounded by a diverse range of music genres—Russian folk, French and Italian pop, classical, classic rock, and musical theater. After taking piano lessons as a pre-teen, I started writing my own songs and learned to sing by emulating Broadway show soundtracks.

In 2005, I began collaborating with producers to release some of my original songs, including Mark Turrigiano (producer of Ingrid Michaelson's Girls and Boys), Justin Goldner (producer of Tori Kelly's "Waving Through a Window"), and Moogy Klingman (songwriter of Bette Midler's "You Gotta Have Friends").

Between 2008 and 2010, I assembled a band and performed live shows across Manhattan's Lower East Side, playing venues like Arlene's Grocery, National Underground, Mercury Lounge, and Pianos. From 2012 to 2015, six of my songs were featured on Lifetime's TV show Dance Moms, which helped me build a fan base among dancers who recreated the show's choreography using my music.

From 2016 to 2021, I took a break from songwriting to focus on starting a family, and in 2022, I returned to releasing new songs, putting a greater emphasis on acoustic performance and production.

I currently live in Manhattan with my husband and two young sons, for whom I also write lullabies.
