Fans of Regina Spektor and Katie Melua, meet Russian-American singer/songwriter, Alisa Shamrow. Born in Moscow and raised in New York and North Jersey, Alisa's formative years were immersed in diverse musical genres, as her house was consistently filled with the sound of her parent's immense record collection. She received her first keyboard and guitar at 12, and by 18, she had become a prolific songwriter and performed her original material for friends and family.

Subsequently, she went on to study finance at Lehigh University, and graduated with a B.S. in Business & Economics. Nurturing her passion for songwriting while in college, she continued to do so whenever she could and frequently played on and off campus. After graduating, she settled in New York City to begin her career in business and online media, and continued to play in open mic nights and music festivals frequently.

In 2005, Alisa decided to record some of her original material, and worked with noted producer Moogy Klingman, who arranged three of her original tracks ("Baby," "Fly," and "Promises"). In 2007, Alisa sought out Mark Turrigiano to arrange her next project. Turrigiano produced Ingrid Michaelson's hit independent album, "Girls and Boys," which had just starting gaining recognition at the time. The two worked together and in 2008, Alisa debuted her first 5-song EP, "Little Stories," which was released on iTunes. It contained three tracks arranged by Turrigiano ("Run Run Run," "Why Don't You Understand?" and "Wish").

Shortly thereafter, "Run Run Run" was featured on the "RADAR" page of Tumblr's blogging platform and was also featured on the iTunes FM102x podcast called "Song of the Day". Her material also began to gain some popularity on MySpace Music, and UGO.com then named her "Siren of the Week" in its popular music section.

In 2010, Alisa wanted to record a multi-genre album of work, and produced her first full-length album, "Isn't Love Strange?" A mix of Blues, Folk Rock and Pop, she worked with professional musician, Justin Goldner, who arranged the album's instrumentation. As a completely new venture into the world of pure pop songwriting, Alisa also included a bonus track on the album called "Just My Style (Concept Song for Britney Spears)". This track was then also featured as the "Song of the Day" on the FM102x podcast on iTunes.

Recently Alisa's catalogue of work has been accepted into the JinglePunks.com music licensing database, as well as the MusicSupervisor.com music licensing database, and continues to get picked up by Internet music distribution channels.

She is currently working on new material and plans to release her next album in 2012.
